UK Athletics released this year’s Hall of Fame class on Thursday with several big-time names leading the way.
Standing out on top is Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a national champion in his one season at Kentucky and former No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft that following summer. He averaged just under 12 points seven rebounds and nearly two assists while starting all but one game for the Wildcats during the 2011-2012 season.
Joining MKG was former volleyball star Leah Edmond. A two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year during her time at Kentucky, she also paved the way to three SEC championships and was an absolute force at the net with a school-record 1,978 kills.
Finishing out the class is Patty Jo Hedges-Ward (UK Women’s Basketball from 1980-83), Paul Calhoun (UK Football from 1981-84), Tim Duckworth (UK Men’s Track and Field from 2015-2018) and Asia Seidt (UK Women’s Swimming & Diving from 2017-2020).
UK Athletics also announced that all new members will be officially inducted during Kentucky’s Hall of Fame weekend which is currently scheduled for September 25th & 26th.
