The case against suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola and over a dozen other senior police officers has been adjourned to August 28.
They appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court on Friday in connection with the R228-million Medicare24 Tshwane District South African Police Service tender awarded to controversial tenderpreneur and attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “CAT” Matlala’s company.
The matter was postponed to allow the State to amend the charge sheet following the separation of businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala’s case after he turned state witness and pleaded guilty to all charges.

The Independent Directorate Against Corruption, IDAC spokesperson Henry Mamothame, says the amendments are necessary before the case can proceed.
“In the coming weeks, if the decision by the court goes out, pending that outcome, based on the case dockets before us if any information arises it will mean amendments have to be made to the charge sheet and all the information that has to follow will be disclosed, following that if there are any applications by the accused for disclosure they will be tackled as it comes.”
