Wisconsin kept its strong 2027 basketball recruiting run going Thursday, landing a commitment from four-star wing Baboucarr Ann. Ann, a 6-foot-5 small forward from Maple Grove High School in Osseo, Minnesota, gives Greg Gard and the Badgers another high-end piece in what is quickly becoming one of the more interesting Wisconsin recruiting classes in recent memory. Ann is rated as the No. 1 player in Minnesota by 247Sports and is listed as a top-100 national prospect. His commitment gives Wisconsin a long, athletic wing with two-way upside and another player who fits the direction of the program.
The addition also continues a strong month for the Badgers on the recruiting trail. Wisconsin already had commitments from four-star guard Jalen Brown and 7-foot-1 center Jack Thelen in the 2027 class. Ann now joins that group and gives the Badgers a strong mix of guard play, size and wing athleticism. For Wisconsin, this is the type of recruiting win that stands out. The Badgers have often built through development, evaluation and fit. Ann checks those boxes, but he also brings a national recruiting profile that adds another layer to the class.
Belief. Trust. Development. Family.
That’s why I’m a Badger. 🦡❤️#OnWisconsin#Alhamdulia#Committedpic.twitter.com/5gtLLiq8lj— Baboucarr Ann (@Babouann) June 25, 2026
Ann had been a major target for Wisconsin, and the Badgers were able to close after building a strong relationship and getting him back to Madison. Assistant coach Brad Davison and Gard were both heavily involved in the recruitment. Ann’s game should give Wisconsin flexibility. He has the size to play on the wing, the athletic ability to defend multiple spots and the skill set to keep growing as a scorer. The commitment is another sign that Wisconsin’s staff is gaining real traction with the 2027 class. With Brown, Thelen and Ann now in the fold, the Badgers have a group that gives fans a clear reason to be excited about the future.
