For those still hoping to get a chance to see Argentina and Spain in the 2026 World Cup Final on Sunday, it’s going to cost you big.
As of 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, prices to see the big event have ballooned to a median ticket price of $13,336, per Gametime. The get-in price for the match is $8,856, but tickets are going for as much as $63,524.
The game will be taking place in New York New Jersey Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,663. The highly anticipated matchup will see Argentina and Lionel Messi attempt to win back-to-back World Cup titles, while Spain vies for its first trophy since 2010.
The soaring prices make this World Cup Final one of the most expensive sporting events ever. In terms of tickets sold, Sunday’s final has a minimum sale price of $6,095, an average sale price of $9,432, and a median sale price of $8,048.
That easily surpasses the 2026 Super Bowl, which had a minimum sale price of $3,286, an average sale price of $6,555 and a median sale price of $5,979. It also hits just shy of the most expensive Super Bowl on record in 2024, where the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off in Las Vegas; tickets for that game had a minimum sale price of $6,801, an average sale price of $9,432 and a median sale price of $8,048.
The ticket sales are also comparable to the cost of seeing the New York Knicks play in the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, another high-priced can’t-miss event. Sale prices for Games 3 and 4 of the series had minimum sale prices of $2,410 and $1,813, respectively; average sale prices of $7,023 and $6,119; and median sale prices of $5,024 and $4,935.
Prices for the final have also continued to rise, with Saturday’s prices an increase already from a few days ago: On Thursday, the get-in price was $7,399, with a median price of $11,571. That means that there is a chance prices will keep rising to surpass the 2024 Super Bowl prices.
Though Spain is currently favored to win the match, both teams will be trying to make history. Fans will also be clamoring to see Messi, one of the greatest players of all time, in what might be his final World Cup game. Messi is also in the running for the Golden Boot, and was just passed by France’s Kylian Mbappé for all-time leading scorer at the World Cup.
The game will also feature a halftime show with co-headliners Justin Bieber, Shakira, Madonna and BTS.
