Our “3 unanswered questions” series is moving right along, and it is time to take a look at the Arizona Cardinals out of the NFC West. The NFC West has great quarterback play, excellent receivers, and is a division that is constantly in survival-of-the-fittest mode. Let’s take a look at what is plaguing the Cardinals during camp, besides the obvious of losing Kyler Murray, of course…
Once again for the Arizona Cardinals, it is not only a new quarterback, same old, same old, but also a new coach, same old, same old. The Cards are starting over… yet again. Do they wait and play the long game at QB with Jacoby Brissett? Will they end up giving rookie Carson Beck a look sooner rather than later? It feels like a matter of if, not when. Or will they enter the Arch Manning sweepstakes of 2027? That’s a lot of questions in one paragraph, but about halfway through the season, we will see what direction they will decide to take.
As if I hadn’t already stated it, the team needs a long-term solution at QB because this team could honestly make a playoff run within 3-5 years. Think about it… The defense was atrocious last season, but recently improved; they have a huge three-headed monster of weapons in rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, tight end Trey McBride, and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. I’m telling you it can happen soon.
Will the Cardinals generate enough of a pass rush opposite Josh Sweat? He was the only constant for them on the year last season. If they do not find more of a pass rush during camp, the Cardinals’ defense will still have improved, but will be absolutely vulnerable.
