New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart flashed major potential on numerous occasions during his rookie campaign in 2025.
The young star made 12 total starts last year despite missing Weeks 11 and 12 with a concussion. Dart was excellent on a week-to-week basis before the injury, and the quarterback will now look to build upon that success in his second year.
Speaking from the Manning Passing Academy, legendary Giants quarterback Eli Manning shared his thoughts on Dart ahead of his second season in New York. Manning explained how Dart can become the Giants’ next franchise quarterback, noting that the signal-caller has all the tools at his disposal to cement himself as a star for years to come.
“When you’re coming into the NFL, you’re not the starter, you’re a rookie,” Manning told The Insiders. “It’s kind of hard to know what your role is. How do you lead guys? Do you know your offense completely? I think now, going into his second year, he’s going to have a greater command of the offense and a greater command of what he needs to do.
“How does he need to prepare? How does he watch film? How does he pick up the blitz, and how is he going to change protections? So, kind of knowing how teams played him, he can prepare for that and have answers next year. I think it just helps you from the leadership side and the preparation side of knowing what to expect.”
Manning is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in the history of New York Giants football. The legendary signal-caller won two Super Bowls throughout his NFL career and was named MVP of both Super Bowl XLII and XLVI.
Dart undoubtedly has the talent to emerge as the Giants’ next franchise quarterback. Manning appears to have full confidence in the young signal-caller, and Dart will enter his second season in New York with some massive expectations.
Dart proved he could thrive in the spotlight on a handful of occasions in 2025, and the quarterback now finds himself entering a crucial sophomore campaign with the Giants in 2026.
