Tyson Fury will return to the ring against heavyweight journeyman Mariusz Wach on Friday, July 24, at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
It will mark Fury’s final warm-up fight before he heads into a blockbuster all-British superfight with Anthony Joshua later this year. Joshua is set for a tune-up himself eight days later in Saudi Arabia against the equally unheralded Kristian Prenga.
Despite rumors surrounding a shock link-up between Fury and UFC CEO Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, the fight will be co-promoted by Spencer Brown’s Goldstar Promotions and Frank Warren’s Queensberry and will not involve Zuffa. There is currently no official broadcaster for the contest, despite erroneous reports of the fight landing on Netflix.
Fury (35-2-1, 24 KOs), a former two-time heavyweight champion, ended his latest retirement with a wide unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov this past April at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It was his first fight since back-to-back defeats at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, with the first of those two bouts being for boxing’s undisputed heavyweight title.
Wach (39-13, 20 KOs) has lost seven out of his past 10 fights. The 46-year-old from Poland was a contender in boxing’s blue-ribbon division more than a decade ago. In 2012, he unsuccessfully challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight title. Since losing to Jarrell Miller in 2017, Wach has become a journeyman, falling short 11 times in his past 17 fights.
