Police in Gqeberha have launched a murder investigation after four bodies were found at a residence in the Solomon Mahlangu Informal Settlement in Walmer, Eastern Cape, on Monday.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says all four adult victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and were declared dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that one male and one female were found lying next to each other in the sitting room. In contrast, another male and female were found lying next to each other on a bed in the bedroom.
The motive for the killings remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation or lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to come forward.
