2027 four-star point guard Kevin Savage has named the Auburn Tigers in his top six per Joe Tipton of On3 and Rivals. Savage intends to announce where he plans to play college basketball on July 5, according to the report.
When announcing his top six schools, Savage also named Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Purdue, and UCLA. According to 247Sports, Savage is rated as the No. 9 point guard for the 2027 recruiting class. He is the No. 36 player overall and No. 6 in Georgia in the cycle. Auburn offered Savage back on Aug. 5, 2023, when Bruce Pearl was still the head coach of the Tigers.
Savage is a point guard who attends Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia. He is a player who has several different abilities on the offensive end of the court. He is a very capable three-point shooter with college range. He also has a quick first step that allows him to get to the basketball. When he does get into the paint, he is a very good finisher. Savage is not just about getting his points, though. He also uses his ability to get to the basket to set up his teammates for points when an extra defender comes to Savage. He would be a great addition to the Auburn basketball team.
In the report by Tipton, Savage talked about all six teams in his top six. When talking about Auburn, he focused on the success they have had with point guards by mentioning Jared Harper, Sharife Cooper, and Tahaad Pettiford. He said he likes that the team plays through the guards. He also mentioned that he had a good relationship with Bruce Pearl and is working on building one with Steven Pearl.
Auburn basketball currently has zero commitments for the 2027 recruiting class.
