New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith may be in some serious trouble after he was hit with a huge allegation.
Smith has been accused of domestic violence, and now the police are getting involved.
On Father’s Day, Smith’s girlfriend and the father of one of his children accused him of hitting her. She filmed the whole thing, claiming that Smith just “beat my ass”, as he is seen in the background calling the police.
According to reports, the police department said officers arrived at Smith’s residence at 4:40 p.m. ET on Sunday. The spokesperson said no one was taken into custody at the scene.
Neither Smith nor the Jets has yet to comment on this incident, but this is just the latest domestic abuse case in the NFL. Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs, and now Smith have all been accused of domestic abuse.
None of the cases have been resolved so far, and they are still under investigation. Smith just resigned with the Jets during the offseason, but now he may have caused a dilemma.
Smith may have opened a Pandora’s Box without realizing it. The team may have to look for another quarterback if this case goes further.
