The Seattle Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers 13-3 in Week 18 to claim the NFC West division title and No. 1 seed in the conference. Meanwhile around the division, both the 49ers and Los Angeles Rams learned who their first round postseason opponents will be.
The 49ers will travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles. The Rams will be in Carolina for a matchup with the NFC South-winning Panthers. Naturally, both NFC West teams will be on the road.

The 49ers haven’t played the Eagles since 2023. They defeated them 42-19 during the regular season. Everyone remembers the infamous 2022 NFC Championship Game matchup when the Eagles blew out the 49ers 31-7 partially due to numerous injuries to San Francisco’s quarterbacks.
The Rams were shockingly defeated 31-28 by the Panthers in Week 13. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 15-of-20 passing attempts in that game for 206 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Young was near flawless.
Despite that, many will consider the Rams overwhelming favorites. The 8-9 Panthers are the lone postseason team with a losing record. It wouldn’t be shocking if both the Rams and 49ers win their first-round playoff contests despite being on the road.
