Although LeBron James’ status is uncertain, the Golden State Warriors are likely to extend former two-time MVP Stephen Curry in some capacity this summer. Curry has one season remaining on his deal, but according to Anthony Slater, the Warriors would be interested in giving him a one-year or two-year max contract extension.
A one-year extension would align the contracts of both Curry and Steve Kerr, who signed a two-year extension this offseason, and could offer the opportunity for his “Splash Brother,” Klay Thompson, to join him in the Bay Area for the 2027-28 season. However, it remains to be seen if Curry has plans to play beyond the 2027-28 campaign. By then, Curry will be 40 years old with 19 years of NBA experience.
