It’s almost impossible to get a feel for how the Golden State Warriors actually feel about a potential Anthony Davis trade.
Some have suggested that the Warriors would only trade for Davis if they landed LeBron James, while others believe that the future Hall of Famer could be a fit in Golden State no matter what.
I’m of the belief that the Warriors don’t have enough talent, and if they can land a player of Davis’ caliber for a relatively reasonable price, they should go out and do just that.
While nothing is set in stone just yet, and the earlier reports suggested that the Warriors actually aren’t too interested in him, the latest one is a bit conflicting, suggesting that the Warriors have shown interest in Davis, but the Washington Wizards have not made him available.
“The Golden State Warriors have expressed trade interest in Davis. Yet, Washington has rebuffed such inquiries to this point, putting a major wrench in Golden State’s dream scenario of pairing Davis with free agent target LeBron James in the Bay Area,” Michael Scotto wrote.
The Wizards have made it known that they plan to be a much better team next season, or at least try to be.
However, I could see a trade like this going down in the middle of the year at the trade deadline. The Warriors, of course, would have to be a much better team than they currently are to be big buyers at next year’s deadline, but only time will tell in that regard.
