The Kentucky Basketball staff was busy this past week, making their rounds and evaluating prospects at the grassroots summer circuit championships in the last evaluation period of the year.
Following that, the staff is extending offers to start this week, most recently to 2027 top-50 wing Howard Williams, he announced on social media.
Mark Pope watched Howard at the Puma PRO16 circuit last week, and Mo Williams extended the offer to Williams on Tuesday. Kentucky is Williams’ most prestigious offer to date, joining an offer list that includes Illinois, Washington, and Florida State, among others.
At 6-6, 215 pounds, Williams already has great positional size. His biggest strength is his motor, which stands out on the defensive end. Along with his frame, he has great lateral quickness and length, giving him the versatility to guard positions 1-3.
On the offensive end, he has a knack for slashing to the rim, which is benefited by his size to absorb and finish through contact, along with a respectable jump shot.
At the college level, he shows great promise as a 3-and-D wing and the versatility that Mark Pope values for that position.
