Cameron Boozer had an impressive run at the 2026 NBA Summer League. It was a good glimpse into what he can bring to the Memphis Grizzlies when the 2026-27 season rolls around. He might be the youngest rookie in his class, but he is ready to contribute and lead the Grizzlies.

As the Ja Morant era in Memphis has ended, they already have a building block with Boozer. It seems they are ready to succeed moving forward with him as the star player. Thankfully for the organization and its fans, Boozer seems ready for success.

Boozer is one of the most NBA-ready prospects in his class despite being the youngest. He already has the physical traits to keep up, but he also has the natural sense that can make him thrive in the NBA. Since he is with the Grizzlies, he is in a good place to keep fighting.

As he watched the NBA Playoffs, Boozer also learned plenty of lessons by only watching. He knows that teams like the New York Knicks are examples he and the Grizzlies must follow moving forward because he knows what they are capable of.

The Knicks were not seen as favorites heading into the 2025-26 season, but they were a good team. Their players had the optimal roles, and they did not complain about their obstacles. That is what Boozer wants to get from himself and his teammates in Memphis.

“Look at the Knicks this year. Everyone on that team was capable of doing more than one thing. Everyone was capable of playing on or off the basketball. That’s what I feel like I can do best. I can screen. I can handle it. You can put me in a lot of different scenarios,” Boozer said to The Athletic’s Tony Jones.

As Boozer progresses in his career, he will continue learning how to become a star player. Since he is focused on learning from the ones who came before him, he is ready to learn from history and on the job as one of the Grizzlies’ foundational pieces.
