The Sanders family is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, and that goes back to Deion Sanders’ time as an swagged-out NFL superstar; the trend continues with his son, Shedeur Sanders.
The younger Sanders recently held a photo shoot at either his or his father’s house, causing a major reaction on social media.
Former NFL coach and current ESPN commentator Rex Ryan was not impressed, believing the young quarterback should focus more on the team, which featured Sanders posing with hundreds of his No. 12 Browns jerseys.
“Get a load of this kid,” Ryan said on X. “Great talent, needs to realize as a ‘franchise’ QB there has to be more we than me. C’mon man.”

Ryan is known for his “hot” takes that often lack factual backing. While the former head coach says Shedeur is a great talent, he seems to think the photo shoot with all the jerseys is a bit too much “me” when it should be all about the team.
It is a weird thing to get bothered by, especially since it is the offseason and the players only have a few weeks to unwind. To make matters worse for Ryan, Sanders was coming off a weekend where he spent time throwing to his teammates and held a free youth football camp.
Ryan was quickly blasted for his take, with thousands of people, including former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith, chiming in, saying he was in the wrong. Ryan’s response to a simple photo shoot received 1.3 million views, highlighting the media attention the Sanders family attracts and how they often face scrutiny regardless of their actions.
As Shedeur enters his second season in the NFL, all eyes will be on him as he battles for the starting quarterback job during training camp.
