One of the stops on the public weekend tour for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was at Fanatics Fest in New York.
There, with a Heisman Trophy near him on stage, Burrow went as far as cracking a joke about keeping his particular Heisman Trophy very secure amid the recent wave of high-profile robberies around pro athletes.
“I have it locked up in a safe place for all you robbers out there who are getting any ideas,” Burrow said.
It’s fun that Burrow’s in a headspace where he can joke about the topic, all things considered. His home was burglarized in a string of robberies that led to guilty pleas for those allegedly involved.
Unfortunate, obviously, that this is even a topic of discourse for Burrow, but a good sign that he’s capable of joking around about the subject.
