The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is long snapper Casey Kreiter.
Casey Kreiter background, 2025 season
Kreiter has been in the league since 2014 and joins the Cardinals for his first season in 2026. He entered the league in 2014 as a rookie free agent after going undrafted out of Iowa. He spent two offseasons with the Dallas Cowboys, unable to make the roster, and finally caught on in 2016 with the Denver Broncos. He played four seasons for the Broncos, making the Pro Bowl once, and then spent the next six with the New York Giants.
Casey Kreiter contract details, salary cap hit
He follows Cardinals special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial to Arizona. Kreiter signed a one-year contract worth almost $1.5 million. He received a $187,500 signing bonus and will make $1.3 million in salary, of which almost $1.1 million is guaranteed.
His deal is a qualifying veteran contract and will only count about $1.26 million against the salary cap.
Roster outlook, questions he faces
Kreiter is the only long snapper on the roster, so unless he gets hurt, he is the guy. He replaces Aaron Brewer, who was the Cardinals’ long snapper for the last 10 years. Interestingly, he also replaced Brewer in 2016 with the Broncos, so he has now followed Brewer twice.
