It’s probably safe to say no fighter on the UFC roster is more hyped about Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph than Ilia Topuria.
On Sunday, Spain claimed its second World Cup in the nation’s history by defeating Lionel Messi and Argentina 1-0 in the tournament final, capping off an eight-game run in which the team gave up only one goal. It’s only natural that Topuria would celebrate with pride.
Topuria, who is of Georgian descent but grew up and lives in Spain, was seen reveling in “La Roja’s” victory in video that surfaced on social media. It shows Topuria, with his son on his shoulders, at a watch party with fans and singing his “Cancion del Mariachi” walkout song.
