Saying that Kentucky Wildcats star forward Milan Momcilovic is likely to win the 2027 Wooden Award is a stretch, but DraftKings can only list odds for so many players. He made the cut.
He’s among the players listed in the recently released Wooden Award odds which can be seen below. Jeremy Fears Jr., the Michigan State star, is the favorite, but there are several names to keep an eye on, including freshman phenom Tyran Stokes, who chose Kansas over Kentucky on national television.
That said, if you take a look at Momcilovic’s odds, he’s listed at +4000, which means that a $100 bet on him to win the award would net $4,000 for a total payout of $4,100. Those are pretty long odds and not really something to consider, although there is certainly reason to believe that in Mark Pope’s offense that the best has yet to be seen from Momcilovic.

Why might Momcilovic be ready to explode in Lexington? Well, the answer is simple, and it’s because Pope likes to shoot a bunch of threes. That’s what Momcilovic is best at, and that’s something the head coach seems to be prioritizing, especially for this upcoming season.
Last season, the 6-foot-8 forward shot 48.7% from deep for the Iowa State Cyclones. Now, it should be noted that his Cyclones team had several talented players that allowed the spotlight to be off the sniper, but nonetheless, he averaged 16.9 points per game and shot over 50% from the field, something not many players can say they’ve done.
Momcilovic is going to be a sniper, and if he can get clean looks, he should be eyeing at least 20 points per game, even in a highly competitive SEC.
