In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Chelsea are in talks to land AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to secure the services of the French talent this off-season.
Kone’s Impressive Form In Serie A
Kone enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club in the previous campaign when he produced a string of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old found the back of the net twice and earned three assists in 37 matches for AS Roma last season across all competitions.
The Italian sensation is currently one of the best central midfielders in Serie A. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Blues are hoping to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.
His current contract at Roma will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Should Chelsea Boss Xabi Alonso Move In For Kone This Summer?
Kone is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is an accurate passer as well from midfield.
The French sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. Kone can even contribute by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if the Blues manage to bring him on board later this year.
We can expect Kone to add more bite and steel to Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge next season.
At 25, Kone has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good choice for the West London club to consider in this summer transfer window. Hence, Alonso would be wise to move in for him this off-season.
