The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is safety Wydett Williams Jr.
Wydett Williams Jr. background, 2025 season
Williams is a rookie who went undrafted out of Ole Miss. He played two seasons for Delta State and one for Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to Mississippi. He signed with the Cardinals after the draft.
In 2025, he logged 73 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions and 10 pass breakups.
Wydett Williams Jr. contract details, salary cap hit
He has a three-year contract worth a little more than $31 million. He received a $10,000 signing bonus, and $100,000 if his $885,000 2026 salary is guaranteed. If he makes the roster, he will count almost $889,000.
Roster outlook, questions he faces
Williams is a long shot to make the 53-man roster. However, with the guaranteed money, he is likely going to land on the practice squad unless he is claimed off waiver by another team. Three safety spost are locked in with Budda Baker, Rabbit Taylor-Demerson and Andrew Wingard. There are one maybe two spots left, and he is the least likely of the group including Joey Blount, Kitan Crawford and Isaiah Oliver to make the roster.
