Ever since the 2018 World Cup, watch parties across London (especially at Boxpark locations) have been the spots for England fans to experience a beer-soaked World Cup run. But those same fans don’t consider the heartbreak when that World Cup inevitability comes crashing to an end.
With a chance to reach the World Cup final for the first time since 1966, England gave up two late goals to Argentina in the Wednesday’s World Cup semifinal at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium to fall, 2-1.
What was looking like a historic night of jubilation across England turned into the all-too-familiar disappointment. And, of course, cameras were rolling at Boxpark Wembley when Lautaro Martínez scored the 92nd-minute winner.
