We’re still a little over two weeks away from the start of training camp for the New Orleans Saints, and fans are dying to see the team’s new acquisitions in live action. Many have been waiting for the future of the franchise to finally step onto the practice field, as the 2026 draft class prepares to make its first impression in front of coaches, teammates, and fans alike.
The Saints made eight selections in this year’s draft and will likely need big-time contributions from several of them as early as Year 1. Whether it’s competing for a starting job, earning rotational snaps, or standing out on special teams, every rookie will have an opportunity to make a name for themselves during camp.
With training camp just around the corner, here are the Saints rookies we’ll be keeping the closest eye on over the coming weeks.
WR Jordyn Tyson
We have yet to see Tyson take any meaningful reps this spring, as the Saints have been cautious about bringing him back from the hamstring injury he suffered before the draft. But the moment he steps onto the field for competitive drills, all eyes will be on No. 0. As the Saints’ first-round selection, Tyson enters training camp with high expectations and will be one of the most closely watched players on the roster.
TE Oscar Delp
Outside of Tyson, Delp might be the most intriguing player in this draft class. While he never posted elite production in college, Delp possesses all the physical tools to develop into a true X-factor in Kellen Moore’s offense. His size, athleticism, and versatility make him a fascinating fit, and it’ll be incredibly interesting to see how the coaching staff utilizes him throughout training camp.
G Jeremiah Wright
Wright will be one of the more talked-about rookies this season, not only because of his talent as a mauler on the interior, but also because of the play of Cesar Ruiz. If Ruiz struggles to perform at a consistent level, Wright could hear his name called much sooner than expected. He has the physicality and upside to push for meaningful snaps if given the opportunity.
WR Barion Brown
The intrigue surrounding Brown starts with his special teams ability. Rashid Shaheed’s injury last season left a void in the return game, and Brown enters camp as the early favorite to fill that role. His elite speed makes him a dangerous weapon with the ball in his hands, and strong performances on special teams could earn him offensive opportunities as the season progresses.
