Birla enters renewables top tier with $1.8 bn Sprng deal

Kumar Mangalam Birla has raised the stakes in India’s renewable energy race with the $1.8-bn acquisition of Sprng Energy from Shell. The transaction will more than double the Aditya Birla Group’s clean power capacity, bringing it closer to India’s biggest renewable players.
