Four more players from the UCLA baseball team were selected on Day 2 of the 2026 MLB Draft on Sunday. There were a total of eight Bruins drafted in this year’s class, including the No. 1 overall draft pick, Roch Cholowsky.
Cal Randall (No. 146)
Right-handed pitcher Cal Randall was the first Bruin to hear his name called on Sunday. The St. Louis Cardinals acquired the All-Big Ten Third Team honoree with the No. 146 overall pick in the fifth round of the draft.

Randall spent all three seasons of his career at UCLA. He helped the Bruins reach the Men’s College World Series in 2025, which was the program’s first appearance in 12 years.
The Concord, California native finished the season with a 3-0 record and posted a 3.19 ERA, 57 strikeouts and 14 saves across 31 innings with UCLA in 2026.
Will Gasparino (No. 161)
A few picks later, the Philadelphia Phillies selected outfielder Will Gasparino with the No. 161 overall pick in the fifth round of the draft.

Gasparino transferred to UCLA after spending the first two seasons of his career at Texas. He started in 58 games in the outfield and finished this season as a NCBWA First Team All-American and All-Big Ten First Team selection.
Dean West (No. 222)
The Toronto Blue Jays drafted Dean West with the No. 222 overall pick in the seventh round.

West was the leadoff hitter and a regular starter in the outfield for the Bruins this season. The Sherman Oaks, California native played all three seasons of his collegiate career at UCLA and was also part of the 2025 team that made it back to the MCWS.
He was included on the Big Ten All-Defensive Team as a junior this season.
Cashel Dugger (No. 256)
The final Bruin selected in the 2026 MLB Draft was catcher Cashel Dugger, who the Washington Nationals picked with the No. 256 overall pick in the ninth round on Sunday.

Like Randall and West, Dugger played all three seasons of his career at UCLA and contributed to the program’s return to the MCWS in 2025. He started in 52 games at catcher and slashed 251/.378/.377 with 48 hits, 39 RBIs, nine doubles and five home runs at the plate this season.
