Nongelo Chiume has been named as Build One South Africa’s (BOSA) Ekurhuleni Mayoral candidate.
Chuime, who is the son of the late legendary actress Connie Chiume, is a multi-award winning South African arts administrator and brand strategist.
He is a former national secretary-general of the South African Arts and Culture Youth Forum.
BOSA made the announcement in Ekurhuleni on the East Rand on Saturday morning.
The party’s deputy president Nobantu Hlazo-Webster says, “When I look at Nongelo Chiume, what stands out is not only achievements, but a full commitment to serve. For more than two decades, he’s worked across South Africa’s arts, culture, and community development sectors and he’s been a participant that serves. He has been an organizer. He has been a servant leader.”
