Three people have been killed and three others sustained serious injuries in a car crash on the R-60 road between Ashton and Robertson in the Boland on Friday morning.
Western Cape traffic chief, Maxine Bezuidenhout, says emergency services are on the scene.
He says the R-60 road has been closed to traffic.
“The R-60 remains closed while recovery operations and the necessary investigations continue. Motorists travelling between Robertson and Ashton are advised to use alternative routes. Travel via the R317 through Bonnievale to reconnect with the R60, or use the R62 through Montagu, depending on your destination. Please follow the directions of traffic officials on scene and expect delays. We urge all road users to reduce their speed, remain patient, and exercise caution while travelling in the area.”
