Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence posted two birdies and three pars on his way to an 86 in the first round of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament on July 10 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nev.
Lawrence, who tied for 77th in 2025, birdied the 10th and 13th holes and had three pars, nine bogeys and four double bogeys on his way to +2 points under the Stableford format. He was tied for 41st at the time he finished.
Lawrence was in the middle of his all-NFL QB1 threesome. Drew Brees, the retired New Orleans Saints quarterback, shot 78 and scored 14 points to finish tied for 10th in his first appearance in the event since 2007. Baker Mayfield, the Tampa Bay Bucs starter, needs work. He shot 96 and had minus-17 points to tie for 85th in the 90-player field.
Raines High graduate and former Major League Baseball star Vince Coleman had a good day, with a 76 and +15 points, good for a tie for eighth when he was done. Coleman was steady, with one birdie, 12 pars and five bogeys.
