The Las Vegas Raiders have a pressing need for a star defensive tackle. Had thing gone differently in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Raiders would have missed out on their All Pro tight end, but be ensured at the position for the foreseeable future.
CBS Sports Zachary Pereles had the Raiders select Byron Murphy II at No. 13 overall in a 2024 NFL redraft that revisited the historic class that has made waves in the NFL.
“Las Vegas went into the year with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew as their quarterbacks, but absent a better option here, we have to look elsewhere. Bowers is also off the board. It’d be easy to go with a different pass catcher, but instead, I’d argue Murphy is the best player still available in this redraft. He has developed into one of the best, most disruptive and underappreciated interior defenders in the game.”
Murphy was outstanding last season for the Seattle Seahawks. The Texas native recorded seven sacks and helped the Seahawks win the Super Bowl at the end of the season. He is a star in the making that plays with brilliant speed at the position and is perfect for what the Raiders need moving forward.
