A woman and her three children have died after their shack caught fire at Phagameng Extension 12 in Modimolle, Limpopo.
The children are aged three, 10 and 11.
The four were asleep when the shack was engulfed by flames on Monday night.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Modimolle Municipal spokesperson Michael Makungo says Mayor Anna Mboweni and chief whip Mokgadi Dayimane have conveyed their condolences to the family.
“This incident happened after the shack in which they were sleeping in burned down by far. The cause of the fire has not yet been established at this stage. Mayor Mboweni has appealed to businesses, community organisations, faith-based institutions and members of the public at large to join hands in supporting Masalesa family with burial arrangements and any other assistance required during this difficult time.”
