The Methodist Church of Southern Africa has appealed for compassion, as thousands of Zimbabwean and Malawian nationals are being transported from the Epping Refugee Centre in Cape Town to Musina for repatriation.
Various organisations are assisting the migrants during the repatriation process.

Reverend Sikawu Makubalo says, “I just hope we can channel more resources to Musina and the border. Very soon, we will hear about major challenges in Musina as people of different nationalities make their way there. It is going to be a very challenging logistical operation. Some of them, when they leave here, think they are simply taking a bus home. Little do they know that they will once again get stuck and end up camping in another location, where they could remain for several days.”
He says he hopes South Africans will show compassion and offer as much support as possible in Musina.
