ActionSA in KwaZulu-Natal has expressed its condolences following the passing of African National Congress (ANC) Provincial Task Team member and Member of the Provincial Legislature, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba.
Mahlaba died earlier on Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle while jogging in Newcastle.
ActionSA Provincial Chairperson Zwakele Mncwango says Mahlaba was not only a political leader from an opposing party, but also a personal friend.
Mncwango has called on police to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
“As ActionSA in KwaZulu-Natal we would like to send our condolences to the Mahlaba family and the ANC. We are still shocked; we are still confused as to what really happened. Only God knows what happened, we are hoping that police will do a thorough investigation over this incident, whether it was really an accident or there is a third hand to what really happened.”
