Jon Scheyer and Duke have continued their recruiting tour this summer, handing out more offers to top high school prospects even after securing a commitment from Kager Kneuppel. The two most recent high school prospects to receive an offer from the program are Adan Diggs and Lewis Uvwo.
Beginning with Diggs, the 6’5″ combo guard is ranked the fourth best prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Arizona. Diggs goes to Millennial High School and helped the United States U18 team win a silver medal at the FIBA AmeriCup. In his most recent high school season, Diggs averaged 22.5 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 assists and three steals. While he has offers from many schools, a shortlist includes Alabama, Kentucky, UNC and Arizona.
As for Uvwo, he’s the highest ranked center in the class and is No. 7 overall. Uvwo plays high school basketball for Prolific Prep in Florida and is listed at a staggering 6’10”. Playing in the EYBL over the summer, Uvwo averaged 8.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.3 blocks and 1.8 steals. For this reason, some have begun calling him the Dikembe Mutombo of AAU basketball. If he were to commit to Duke, he’d likely become one of the program’s strongest shot-blockers in recent memory since Mark Williams averaged 2.3 blocks per game in two seasons from 2020 to 2022.
