Alleged cartel member and attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala is scheduled to appear before the Madlanga Commission next week.
Matlala is at the centre of corruption allegations at the Commission, which is investigating allegations of criminal infiltration in law enforcement agencies.
His lawyer is expected to confirm the date of his appearance with the Madlanga Commission.
On Wednesday, the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court rejected the eight-year prison sentence agreed to between the NPA and Matlala’s legal team.
Matlala entered into a plea and sentencing agreement relating to the R228-million Medicare24 Tshwane District SAPS tender fraud case.
The court proposed a 12-year direct imprisonment sentence, which Matlala still needs to agree to.
