Former UFC middleweight title challenger and current light heavyweight contender Paulo Costa wants to book his next fight as soon as possible but says the fight promotion isn’t cooperating.
Costa (16-4) returned to the 205-pound weight class for his last fight, a TKO win over Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327 in April. “Borrachinha” has been looking to get back in action and is even willing to accept a fight in three different weight divisions.
“Since I defeated Azamat in April, I have been looking for the next fight. I ve eventually opened the door to fight at heavyweight. UFC told me to wait…wait,” Costa wrote on X. “Here we are it’s already July and I still looking to fight someone else at Lightheavyweight, middleweight or even heavyweight but the answer from @ufc by Hunter Campbell is the same : “Wait”. I want to fight I don’t want to wait.”
The 35 year-old Brazilian has one fight remaining on his current UFC contract. He’d like to book it as quickly as possible, but believes UFC matchmaker are dragging their feet.
“I have just one more fight at my contract and I want this fight happen soon , but for some reason They don’t,” he wrote.
