Nottingham Forest have set their sights on Curtis Jones as they look to reshape their midfield.
The Liverpool man is a target for Vitor Pereira’s side, talkSPORT reports, with the Reds aware of the interest. Liverpool value the academy graduate at around £40m.
The pursuit follows a major sale. Forest have just banked £116m from Elliot Anderson’s record move to Manchester City, leaving a clear gap in the centre of the park. Jones is among the names lined up to help fill it.
He is not short of suitors. Inter Milan have twice tested Liverpool’s resolve, most recently with a £21.5m approach that was instantly rebuffed.
The Reds will not entertain anything close to that figure. Whether Forest go the distance is unclear.

Liverpool are content to keep Jones if their valuation is not met, and are even comfortable letting him run down his deal. He has just one year left on his contract, though fresh terms have not been ruled out.
His situation reflects a frustrating spell. Of 34 league outings last season, Jones started only 18 under Arne Slot, often filling in at right-back. Now he is keen to secure regular football elsewhere this summer.
Forest are weighing several options. Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall, who has asked to leave, sits high on their list, with Chelsea and Aston Villa also keen on the Sweden midfielder. Inter’s Davide Frattesi is another name under consideration.
Jones would leave with a decorated record. Since his 2019 debut, he has made 228 appearances, scored 22 goals, and won eight trophies, including the Champions League and two Premier League titles.
As the lone Scouser in the squad, his exit would sting supporters, but a fresh start under his own terms now appears the likeliest outcome.
