President Cyril Ramaphosa has hosted a meeting with AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, at the Official Presidential Residence Mahlamba Ndlopfu, in Pretoria.
The President’s meeting with King Misuzulu forms part of government’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders and social partners on government’s approach to addressing the issue of migration.
President Ramaphosa used the meeting to emphasise the responsibility of the state to enforcing immigration laws and that no individual may stop another to demand documentation or proof of nationality.
The President also called on the King to add his voice in calling for peaceful demonstrations to those protesting against illegal immigration.

On Saturday Ramaphosa addressed South Africa’s Traditional Kings and Queens at a meeting ahead of next week’s planned 30 June protests against undocumented foreign nationals.
The President said the traditional leaders can use their standing to calm tensions, resolve disputes through dialogue and prevent communities from being mobilised for violence and disorder.
He says they can remind the people of the spirit of Ubuntu.
