After France thrashed Norway at Boston Stadium, normally Gillette Stadium, it’s clear who Norway will play in the round of 32.
With a second place finish, the team will be heading to Dallas to face off against the Ivory Coast. The Ivory Coast was the second place finishers in Group E, which included Germany, Ecuador, and Curaçao.
While Norway started it’s World Cup with a 4-1 win over Iraq and then a 3-2 win over Senegal, they rested many of their top performers, including star striker Erling Haaland, for the France match. Ahead of the game, Haaland had said he didn’t expect Norway to beat France, and guessed that the stacked French team would win the whole tournament.
In addition, Norway had already secured thier place in the next round and their next match is in just three days, which likely contributed to the decision to rest players.
