Jurel remained unbeaten on 141 as India A declared their first innings at 452 for six. The visitors then reduced Sri Lanka A to 113 for two at stumps, leaving the hosts trailing by 339 runs.
India A made an early impact with the ball. Anshul Kamboj dismissed wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella for 10, caught by Shaik Rasheed, before Yash Thakur bowled Pawantha Weerasinghe for 11.
Sri Lanka A recovered through Nuwanidu Fernando and Ashen Bandara. Fernando remained unbeaten on 65 from 103 balls with seven fours, while Bandara was 18 not out. The pair added an unbeaten 75 runs for the third wicket after the hosts had slipped to 38 for two.
Earlier, Jurel carried on from his overnight score of 68 not out and converted it into a century. His innings included 13 fours and a six from 215 balls.
Shaik Rasheed, who had resumed on 53 not out, added 10 more runs before being bowled by Chamika Gunasekara for 63 off 113 balls, an innings that included five fours. Gunasekara broke the fifth-wicket partnership after picking up his second wicket of the innings.
Jurel then shared an 86-run stand for the sixth wicket with Harsh Dubey. The all-rounder scored 30 off 51 balls with two fours and a six before Gunasekara had him caught by Weerasinghe.
India A had ended the opening day on 333 for four after Sai Sudharsan scored 132. Aayush Pandey (25), Devdutt Padikkal (12) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (22) all got starts but could not convert them into bigger scores.
With a first-innings lead of 339 runs and Sri Lanka A still needing plenty of runs to avoid the follow-on, India A finished the second day in control of the match.
