Businessman and alleged informer Tumelo Nku’s testimony before the Madlanga Commission has been temporarily adjourned to allow him time to supplement his statements.
Nku, who began testifying on Thursday, has been implicated in the Aeroton drug consignment that was intercepted by police in Johannesburg in July 2021.
Evidence leader Adv Teboho Mosikili requested that proceedings be postponed for an hour to allow for further consultations.
Mosikili says, “There is a recent development that we need to have further interaction with Mr. Ngu and potentially supplement some of the statements that he has provided to the commission, Chair and the request, Chair, is for a stand down. For now, we will probably request for an hour and then assess the situation, Chair, and then we’ll advise.”
