The SEC announced home-and-away conference opponents for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season, and year one of Will Wade’s second go-round in Baton Rouge is full of challenges.
All schools will play the rest of the SEC in a single round-robin format, with three opponents at both home and away. Every school has two permanent opponents and a third opponent that will rotate onto the schedule. In LSU’s case, the Tigers’ permanent opponents are Arkansas and Texas A&M, while Auburn rotates on as LSU’s third home-and-away opponent.
In addition to hosting Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, LSU will welcome Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee,Texas and Vanderbilt to the PMAC. Conversely, LSU will travel to Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri and Oklahoma, along with trips to Fayetteville, College Station, and Auburn.
SEC play begins January 2, 2027, with the conference tournament running from March 10-14 in Nashville. Dates and tipoff times for conference games will be announced at a later date.
The SEC has emerged as one of the best men’s basketball conferences across the NCAA, meaning LSU will face plenty of trials and tribulations come January. The Tigers will face 11 schools that made the NCAA Tournament last season, and that’s not even including non-conference games like playing Texas Tech in Houston or Gonzaga in Spokane. Will Wade likes to schedule tough, and this 2026-27 schedule certainly fits the bill.
