If the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft revealed anything about the Memphis Grizzlies, it’s that every option remains on the table.
After selecting Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick, the Grizzlies entered the night with another first-round selection at No. 16. That pick was traded twice, ultimately allowing Memphis to acquire Karim Lopez at No. 21 while adding five future second-round picks.
Now, the Grizzlies turn their attention to Day 2 of the draft June 24, where they hold the No. 32 overall pick — the second selection of the second round. Once again, all possibilities appear to be in play.
Memphis is in a unique position. With the second pick of the day, the Grizzlies can spend the hours leading up to the draft identifying a specific prospect they want to target or exploring opportunities to add more assets.
“We’ll listen to offers,” Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said. “I think we’ll see. Part of the beauty of this two-day draft is that we’ll be able to see what opportunities are out there. That could be trading up, trading down. I also think there are good players at the top of the second round here, too.”
None of the five second-round picks Memphis acquired in Wednesday’s trades will be used in this year’s draft.
The Grizzlies still have notable roster needs, including additional frontcourt depth behind Zach Edey. Fortunately for Memphis, several intriguing prospects are expected to be available near the top of the second round.
