Suspended Ekurhuleni deputy police chief Julius Mkhwanazi is expected to testify at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria this Wednesday morning.
Mkhwanazi has been implicated in allegations of corruption at the Ekurhuleni Metro police department.
He is expected to field questions about his relationship with Medicare24 CEO Mike van Wyk and the Johannesburg precious stones theft in 2023.
Evidence before the Commission has suggested that Mkhwanazi may have had a corrupt relationship with Mike van Wyk, the CEO of Medicare24.
Mkhwanazi is also expected to answer allegations about his alleged involvement in coordinating the theft of precious stones in Killarney, Johannesburg.
On Tuesday, the Madlanga Commission heard the testimony of Witness K, an inspector at the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) about her romantic relationship with Mkhwanazi.
Witness K testified that Mkhwanazi co-ordinated the 2023 theft of the precious stones in Killarney.
