Elijah Sarratt’s early work in Baltimore has already included moments that matter when it comes to earning trust in an NFL offense. For young receivers, every rep with the starting quarterback carries weight, especially in a system that demands precision. Appearing on The Lounge Podcast, Sarratt broke down one of his early standout reps and what it meant in terms of building rhythm with the offense
“It was kind of just a pylon route speaking on coach Deck’s detail oriented again he told me my angle should have been higher on it which he he’s right.”
Sarratt also acknowledged the importance of executing when opportunities come, adding, “I just want to be where I’m supposed to be, where I need to be, so he’s not worried about whether Elijah is going to be able to be right here on this play.” That mindset is exactly what coaches want from a rookie trying to carve out a role early.
Each rep with Lamar Jackson is part of a larger evaluation process, and consistency matters more than occasional highlight moments. Sarratt understands that building trust is about being in the right spot repeatedly, not just making one play.
If he continues stacking clean reps, he gives himself a real chance to earn more opportunities as the season approaches.
