WWE SmackDown on June 22, 2026, took place at The O2 Arena in London, and featured a men’s tag title match between The Vision and The Street Profits.
The go-home show for Night of Champions saw the King and Queen of the Ring finalists face off during promo segments. Ethan Page picked up a win over Dragon Lee and LA Knight pinned Jimmy Uso after assistance from Solo Sikoa of all people.
Here’s the top takeaways from this week’s show:
Oba Femi gets interesting reaction during promo
Opening the show was Oba Femi, who of course, had the entire arena chanting his name. Femi, who takes on Jey Uso in the King of the Ring final at Night of Champions, took the mic to deliver a promo.
Femi teased what would follow a victory over Uso, pondering which title he would chase. When he mentioned the WWE Undisputed Championship, held by Cody Rhodes, the crowd booed. When he said the World Heavyweight Championship, held by Roman Reigns, the crowd popped.
If Oba Femi wins King of the Ring, which CHAMPION would he challenge? 🤔 @Obaofwwepic.twitter.com/rwheSIejvP

This was interesting because Reigns’ title is supposed to be the No. 2 belt in the company, yet that’s the one fans want to see Femi chase. Sure, Femi and Reigns teased a showdown after WrestleMania, and many have suggested that it go down at SummerSlam. I get it. I want that too. However, I can’t help but wonder whether WWE is cool with the top title not drawing as much interest at the moment. It’s not the biggest takeaway in the world, but an interesting takeaway from the promo segment, which also featured Jey Uso yeeting and firing a warning shot at Femi.
Lyra Valkyria turns on Bayley after losing tag title match
The first match of this week’s show was for the women’s tag team titles, as the champs Brie Bella and Paige took on Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Prior to the match, the challengers cut a promo about how frustrated they were with coming up short, and how badly they needed to win the titles in this spot, foreshadowing what was to come.
The challengers came out swinging. Bayley hit an early Bayley to Belly, and Valkyria night a Nightwing to stop the momentum from Paige’s hot tag. Neither resulted in a pin. A moment later, though, Paige hit Rampage on Valkyria out of nowhere to get the win. The champs took their titles and left, while the frustrations of another loss became too much.

Valkyria snapped on Bayley, tossing her hard into the second rope, and unloaded on her. She paused for a moment to think about what she had just done, but then hit Bayley with a Nightwing before leaving her in the ring with officials.
OH MY GOD!!! 😱@Real_Valkyria has TURNED on Bayley! pic.twitter.com/Bq0EamstpX

The match itself felt like it never got into that second gear, and the finish seemed rushed, making for another forgettable tag title match for the champs. Valkyria turning on Bayley is the story here, and it’s about time. They both should be on the singles scene, and hopefully, they’ll get back to that after this feud is settled.
Chad Gable’s apology to Alpha Academy not accepted
Ever since losing his mask, Chad Gable has been on an apology tour. This week, he attempted to make amends with his old Alpha Academy crew. Gable invited Maxxine Dupri, Otis and Tozawa to join him in the ring. Gable gave each a heartfelt apology individually, but Dupri wasn’t having it. She refused the apology because Gable burned all the goodwill he had with her. Otis and Tozawa followed Dupri’s lead and left the ring with her. It was one of the best promos we’ve heard from Dupri.

It’s a necessary part of Gables character development to go through this process, but the sooner the apology phase of this thing is over, the better. Let’s get back to having Gable cook in the ring. Luckily, it appears we’ll get that next week when he takes on JD McDonagh, which could lead to a match against Dominik Mysterio. Gable feels like he’s in a spot where the crowds want to see him succeed, but there’s no telling how long that lasts since he always came up short before.
Street Profits win tag titles
The main event of this week’s show was a men’s tag team titles match between The Vision and The Street Profits. Logan Paul was ringside to support his stablemates, but wouldn’t be there for long.
The Street Profits got big momentum after a hot tag to Angelo Dawkins, connecting with a Blockbuster. Montez Ford went for the cover, but Paul put Austin Theory’s leg on the ropes, and didn’t even try to hide it. The referee appropriately banished him from ringside.
Back-and-forth action continued normally for a good bit, until Breakker tossed steel steps into the ring. Paul reappeared from the timekeeper’s area, attempting to give Theory brass knuckles. Joe Hendry appeared and chased Paul off, but he left the knucks on the ring apron.

Then Seth Rollins appeared and smashed Theory with the knucks. Breakker chased Rollins into the crowd; meanwhile, Dawkins and Ford put the finishing touch on Theory to win the tag titles for the fourth time.

The tag straps are back around the waist of a true tag team. Here’s hoping WWE gives a real focus on the tag division going forward. It’s a long shot hope, but a hope nonetheless. Not that long ago, before the roster cuts, that division was on fire, especially when they showed WWE that they made a mistake by not having the multi-way tag ladder match on WrestleMania. After being off TV for so long, it’s good to see Dawkins and Ford win the titles again.
