Notre Dame is still on its football recruiting heater, and despite signing day being about five and a half months away, the overall class is pretty close to finishing up.
Where Notre Dame Stands Right Now
Notre Dame currently has 19 commitments for its 2027 class after Monday’s announcement by 4-Star WR, Julius Jones Jr. from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida.
The Irish are ranked #3 in the nation by both the 247 Team Composite Rankings and the Rivals Industry Team Rankings. Those rankings could see a nice boost once Jackson Vaughn and Champ Monds get reevaluated after this season. Both players were 5-Star players in the 2028 class, but reclassified to the 2027 class. It’s more likely than not, they will see significant bumps this fall. In essence, the class has five 5-Star players.

What’s Left for Notre Dame to Target
The class is starting to wrap up. There are only a handful of prospects left that the Irish are focusing on to come into the fold.
4-Star OL Albert Simien
4-Star DL Brayden Parks
3-Star DL Segun Alexander
4-Star LB Roman Igwebuike
And that’s really it (for now). The Irish are in great shape for Alexander and Igwebuike and I believe both will be Irish soon. Simien will announce on Friday, and it’s between Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and LSU. Parks should probably be in the same boat at Igwebuike and Alexander, but he did take a visit to Oregon last week after his visit to Notre Dame – so we’ll see how that takes shape.
The Ending?
If Notre Dame lands all four of those prospects, it all but guarantees another top 5 recruiting ranking, and it might even be in the conversation for a top 2 spot. It would give the Irish 23 commitments, which fills the roster up quite nicely, but will still leave room for around 10 players from the transfer portal.
Of course, most of “how does this end” won’t be known until the end of December with National Signing Day and the opening of the transfer portal, but the Irish talent acquisition has been elite, and it looks to remain that way.
