The World Health Organisation (WHO) says the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has recorded the highest number of confirmed cases in the first month of any Ebola outbreak in Africa.
More than 1 000 cases have been confirmed, with 267 deaths reported since the outbreak was declared in May.
Cases have also emerged in crowded displacement camps, raising fears of rapid transmission.
Health experts believe the virus had been circulating for months before it was detected, warning that the response must expand to keep pace with the growing outbreak.
