The South Dakota high school 2025-26 official sports year is over and that means we’re replacing our weekly athlete of the week poll with a weekly question.
Stay with us for a few weeks before we open the AOTW poll back up in August.
This week, we want to know which Watertown and Aberdeen area high school football playoff team from 2025 has the best chance to win a state championship in 2026? Just in case you’re wondering, there’s 23 schools in the list.
Now, it’s in your hands to decide the winner. Voting will continue until midnight on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

April 27-May 3: Claire Horn, Castlewood softball.
May 4-10: Korbin Stark, Faulkton Area boys track and field.
May 11-17: Logan Schell, Watertown softball.
May 18-24: Castlewood softball (Team of the Week).
May 25-31: Hadlee Holt, Iroquois-Lake Preston track.
June 1-7: McKinley Schwab, Sioux Valley softball.
June 8-14: Gage Wik, Bristol.
