Lebanon’s Hezbollah has condemned direct negotiations with Israel and the outcomes they may produce, describing the approach as “flawed and suspicious” and aimed at “submission and surrender”. In a statement issued on Sunday, the group said the rounds of direct talks involving a Lebanese government delegation in Washington were taking place under what it described as US-imposed conditions that undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty and shift its political position towards “those reconciled with the Zionist occupation”.
